MARTIN BASHIR, the TV journalist, explains why he’s backing the search for a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Martin has become patron of Action Duchenne, the UK muscular dystrophy charity which campaigns for a cure and improved treatments for the cruel muscle-wasting condition which claimed the life of his brother Tommy whom he describes as “the most influential person in my life”.

  1. Thank you Martin for your time, effort, and voice. We need you out there lending a voice towards a cure for DMD. I am the proud father of 15 year old son with DMD and this insidious disorder needs a cure. Personally I appreciate it. If you think about it, numerically it is like having a September 11 every year. I think that perspective does make it important enough to sit and take notice.
